The M/T Bigaa crew has received two recognitions for its heroic rescue of seven passengers of the deranged and drifting M/B Rosalie last January 01, 2006 near Calavite Point, Mindoro.
The first award was given last March 10, 2006. Capt Danilo R. Mauro, Vice President for Ship Management, together with other officers of Herma Shipping and Transport Corporation (HSTC), boarded the vessel to award the Plaque of Recognition to the Officers and crew of M/T Bigaa from the Management of HSTC for their courageous act during the rescue operations in Mindoro.
The second award was given last March 17, 2006 during the Philippine Coast Guard Southern Tagalog District?s 23rd year Anniversary celebration at the PPA Compound in Sta. Clara Batangas. During the event, a Certificate of Appreciation was awarded to Herma Shipping & Transport Corporation for the act of heroism and adherence to the practices of the mariner?s tradition rendered by the M/T Bigaa crew during the rescue of seven passengers of M/B Rosalie.
